ClassEval Question Bank

During the Spring and Fall semesters there is the opportunity to add custom questions to the ClassEval surveys. These questions are stored in our Question Bank and can be chosen during the insertion window in the Spring and Fall.  Once entered in the Question Bank these questions are available for use in all future full semester ClassEval sessions.

The question process consists of two distinct windows. The first window is to review existing questions in the Question Bank to determine if the question you wish to ask already exists and can be used. If the question you wish to add does not exist then you can add the question to the Question Bank for later selection. Newly added questions will be reviewed, and edited if necessary. Questions will be edited if spelling, phrasing, or question construction is improper.  (EG. Double-barreled questions will be altered.)  Questions will be deleted if duplicative of an existing question.)

The second window of the Question Bank opens the following week and allow deans, department heads, and instructors to select questions from the Question Bank and attach them to the actual evaluations. Deans and department heads can attach questions to all courses in their college or department. Instructors can add questions to their individual courses.

To avoid overly long questionnaires, the total number of questions that can be selected from the Question Bank and added to the core ClassEval questions is limited to 7 closed-end questions and 6 open-end questions.  As questions are added at each level the number of “slots” available to the following group are reduced. For example, if a dean chooses to add 2 close-end questions then only five additional questions can be added by a department head or instructor and so forth.

Attach Questions from the Question Bank to your ClassEval surveys

Note: Adding a question to the question bank does not add a question to your course evaluations. This window is to see if a question you wish to ask already exists in the question bank for later selection or if you should add a new question to attach to your evaluations at a later date
